Daryl Vaughan and Judy Jones, the founding partners of Light Partners have - between them - over 40 years experience in the entertainment services industry.

Since graduating from Art School in London where he studied theatre design, Daryl has enjoyed an illustrious career working for some of the leading service providers to the film, television, theatre and concert touring industries.  These include such world-renowned companies as Strand Lighting, The Samuelson Group and Theatre Projects.  In the mid-eighties he became the first director of marketing for Vari-Lite Europe, the originators of computer controlled automated lighting, based in Dallas, Texas.  During this period he was involved in the tours of many of the biggest names in show business including Phil Collins, Genesis, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, U2, Frank Sinatra, George Michael and Sting.

In 1992, he established his own consultancy business, Light Partners, providing a range of specialist business and marketing services to overseas theatrical, film and television equipment manufacturers wishing to promote and distribute their products in the UK and European marketplace.

Daryl has never lost his sense of wonder and excitement at what lighting can do to create a mood, enhance a scene, and complement a performance or to transform a room or building in a subtle or spectacular fashion!  Clients all over the world have now exploited his design talents, innovative ideas and extensive knowledge of the latest advances in lighting technology... especially relating to so called ‘solid-state’ LED systems.  His stated mission is to bring the magic of stage and movie lighting into new areas and markets, and to harness their extraordinary effects in environments in which they have never previously been seen!

Judy Jones was born in Hollywood, California and spent her childhood all over the USA from New Jersey in the East to Arizona in the South West! After graduating from Indiana University's renowned School of Music, with degrees in music and journalism, she moved to Dallas, Texas in the early eighties to pursue a career in the burgeoning film, media and broadcast sector, known as the 'Third Coast'.

Possessing talent both as a performer and writer she decided to combine the two disciplines and in 1987 she launched her own business, Hawksbridge Productions, a multi-media company providing production services to both broadcast and corporate video clients.  Combining her administrational expertise behind the camera with her performing abilities in front of it, she was able to offer customers a 'one stop shop' for any presentational requirement from video news releases to live management-training seminars.  Notable blue-chip clients included IBM, Ford Motor Company, Mobil, The Associates Corporation, Philips and General Motors.

In 1992, after marrying British lighting consultant, Daryl Vaughan, Judy moved to the UK where she continued to develop her production services company for clients on both sides of the Atlantic.  Having worked as producer, presenter and writer in live television where the overriding ethos and guiding principle of 'the show must go on' means that she is ideally qualified to stage-manage events for Light Partners’ clients.

Daryl and Judy have now pooled their skills and talents to offer an unrivalled creative and practical service to people who want to adopt a more imaginative approach to lighting their homes or places of work. In so doing, they can draw upon a select group of professional associates with expertise in a wide range of disciplines relating to every aspect of lighting – whether it’s theatrical or architectural, commercial or residential, inside or out – they make light work!
